Mity Might Fishing Derby

At 7:00 am on the most beautiful day of the year 24 individuals ate muffins and scones (brought in for breakfast by Marylyn Steele - Richard heard that they were good!). They set out to prove their skill with the infamous Mity might fishing rod and reel combo! 76 degrees, light winds and sunny. What else could a fisherman ask for? Well? Maybe some fish might be the question!

The Catch - Winners

Of the 24 competitors only eleven were successful! Maybe cold water? Maybe dirty water or just not biting nobody knows but fishing was slow! Top honors went to Neil Schmeck from Renton Washington who joined the club just to enter the tournament. Fishing with Darren Myer they only hooked one fish but was it a big one! A 13.2 lb channel catfish - a Mity might tournament record. Dave Myers took the Accumulated weight and multi species trophies with a catch of bluegill, Bass and crappie with a total weight of 6 lb 8oz.

The Catch - Non Winners

Fish brought in were by Travis Sharp with a 2.1 lb bass Dalton McMannomon with 2.1 lb of trout, Jeff Gardner /Branden Burton with catfish totaling15.3 lbs, Ben Webb with 5 bass at 3.1 lb Bob Kolowith with bluegill and Dale Schielke with the one and only bluegill caught after the loss of the stringer with a total of 0.3 oz . Over all there was 33.11 lbs of fish brought to the scales they were filleted washed and fried.

Fish Fry and Potluck

The after noon was perfect! Plenty of food, good conversation, laughs and companionship. Overall a very relaxing afternoon. Richard Sharp gives a big thanks to all who assisted in the set up and helped make the event possible. He appreciated everyone's efforts.
